General admission tickets are still available for the 17th annual A Taste of Coronado on Wednesday, Oct. 7, but the VIP tier has sold out.
The self-guided culinary tour draws more than 900 guests along a route stretching from Coronado Ferry Landing to Rotary Park, according to the Coronado Eagle & Journal. General admission begins at 5 p.m., and guests travel by foot, bicycle or trolley to participating restaurants and businesses along the way.
The sellout came fast.
VIP chairs Kirstin Roberts and Paulina Bejarano said in a statement published Sept. 30: "Seeing VIP sell out so quickly has been incredibly exciting. We are so grateful to 92118 Collective, the Canu Family and Stake Chophouse & Bar for helping us create a special experience for our VIP guests."
Stake Chophouse & Bar is hosting the VIP portion for the second straight year. Shannon and Billy Canu are returning as VIP sponsors for a second year as well.
New to the sponsor lineup is 92118 Collective, a Coronado-based platform founded by four local women: Bejarano, Alyson Barré, Rachel Strueber and Giovanna Jimenez. The group connects residents with local events and businesses. Its app launches Wednesday at the event, Coronado Times reported in September.
"We're not trying to make Coronado more digital," Jimenez told Coronado Times in September. "We're using technology to help people experience more of Coronado in real life."
A portion of proceeds benefits Promises2Kids, the 2026 featured beneficiary. Funds go to its Guardian Scholars program, which supports current and former foster youth pursuing higher education. The event also raises money for the Coronado Junior Woman's Club.
Tickets remained available as of Sunday, Oct. 4, according to the Eagle & Journal. They can be purchased through Purplepass.
