Musica Vitale will stage a $20 benefit concert on Sunday, Sept. 27, at 2 p.m. at Resurrection Lutheran Church, 1111 5th Ave., to open its 2026-27 season.
The Coronado-based professional choral ensemble announced the performance, titled "Let My Love Be Heard," along with a Veterans Day tribute concert on Wednesday, Nov. 11, at 7 p.m. at Granzer Hall inside Coronado Middle School, 550 F Ave., according to the Coronado Eagle & Journal.
The Nov. 11 concert carries particular weight in a city with deep military ties. Admission details for that performance have not been announced.
Musica Vitale is a nonprofit ensemble specializing in a cappella chamber works of Western European and Slavic origin spanning the last 300 years. The group formed in 2005 when singers from the San Diego Opera Chorus and Sacred Heart Church staged a benefit for Hurricane Katrina victims, according to the ensemble's website.
Artistic director Elena Vizuet holds two master's degrees from the Ural Conservatory in Russia and has appeared in more than 100 San Diego Opera productions. The organization also runs Crown City Chorale, a volunteer, non-audition community choir based in Coronado.
