Three hit-and-run incidents on Thursday, Sept. 10, topped the Coronado Police Department's weekly crime report, the highest single-day count for any category during the Sept. 5–11 reporting period.

None of the hit-and-runs involved injuries, according to the report published by the Coronado Times. The department did not release locations, vehicle descriptions or investigative details for any of the three incidents.

The week also saw two domestic violence arrests. On Saturday, Sept. 5, a 47-year-old woman was arrested on felony charges of inflicting corporal injury on a spouse or cohabitant, which carries a possible penalty of two to four years in state prison and/or a fine of up to $6,000. On Wednesday, Sept. 9, a 41-year-old man was taken into custody on misdemeanor domestic battery charges, which carry up to one year in county jail and/or a fine of up to $2,000.

On Tuesday, Sept. 8, a 31-year-old man was cited on misdemeanor charges of displaying fraudulent or altered evidence of vehicle registration. That charge carries up to six months in county jail and/or a $1,000 fine.

A 25-year-old man was cited for misdemeanor petty theft on Sunday, Sept. 6. Two other men received infraction citations for vehicle registration violations: a 73-year-old on Sept. 6 who was also cited for a motorcycle helmet violation, and a 30-year-old on Monday, Sept. 7, for operating an unregistered vehicle with registration expired more than six months.

Beyond the arrests and citations, the incident log showed 10 general disturbances, 10 suspicious vehicle reports, seven reckless driving calls and eight welfare checks spread across the week. Two burglary reports were logged on Sept. 5 and Sept. 9. A structure or vehicle fire was reported on Sept. 7, the same day the Coronado Police Department posted on X that both southbound lanes on Silver Strand Boulevard were closed at Avenida de las Arenas due to a vehicle fire. The department later confirmed all lanes had reopened.

Sept. 10 was also busy for other reasons. The department posted on X that the City of Coronado was investigating a possible fuel odor. A follow-up post that day said the city and local emergency management partners were unable to determine the odor's source.

Friday, Sept. 11, was the quietest day of the week, with two welfare checks and one driving-under-the-influence report.
